Green Bean Medley

1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans, halved

1 medium onion, cut in rings

1 rib celery, sliced

2 to 3 carrots, cut in 2" strips

1 teaspoon salt, optional

2 to 3 tblsp. minced fresh savory OR 2 to 3 tsp. dried, savory

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 cup water

Instructions: In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5-10 minutes or until vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon to a serving bowl.
