Sachtleben Venison Casserole

Qty Measure Ingredient

1 -1 1/2 pounds boned venison steak, cut in bite size pieces

seasoned flour

4 tablespoons butter

3 tablespoons flour

3 cups water

1 small onion, minced

1 small can mushrooms

1 2 cloves garlic

salt and pepper, to taste

garlic and onion powders, to taste

Instructions: Coat the venison in the seasoned flour.

Brown in skillet with 3 tablespoons butter.

Remove meat from pan.

Add one tablespoon of butter and 3 tablespoon flour to drippings in pan. Brown.

Add 3 cups water, onion, mushrooms, garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.

Add venison and stir into a baking dish.

Cook (simmer) in oven at low temperature for 1-1 1/2 hours.

Serve over steamed rice or noodles. Also good over cornbread.
