1 (18.25 oz) box Devil's food cake mix

1 egg

3/4 cup water

1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13-by 9-inch pan with cooking spray.

Mix the egg, water and nuts in a large bowl, then add the dry cake mix (nothing else); stir well.

If the batter needs more water, add a teaspoonful at a time. Don't add too much, because the batter should be thick. Don't over mix.

Pour into the pan, making sure to smooth the top evenly.

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes for chewy brownies. If you like them a little drier, bake a few minutes longer.
