Crockpot Shrimp Creole

1 1/2 cups celery, diced

1 1/4 cups onion, chopped

3/4 cup bell pepper, chopped

1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

1 (28 oz) can whole tomatoes - plain, not seasoned, undrained

1 clove garlic, minced

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

4 whole allspice berries, optional

1 pound shrimp, shelled and deveined

garlic powder and onion powder, to taste

Instructions: In crockpot combine all ingredients except shrimp.

Cook for 3 to 4 hours on HIGH or 6 to 8 hours on LOW.

Add shrimp for the last 30 minutes of cooking.*

Serve over hot rice.

This is even better reheated the next day.



Background: Note: *Adding the shrimp to soon will overcook them, and it will be like having bits of tire rubber in texture in your meal!!!!
