Crockpot Swiss Steak Supper

1 1/2 pounds beef boneless round steak, about 3/4" thick

1/2 teaspoon each pepper and salt

1/2 teaspoon each garlic powder and onion powder

6 potatoes, cut in fourths

1 1/2 cups baby carrots

1 medium onion, sliced

1 can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic & oregano, undrained

1 jar (12 oz) home-style beef gravy

Instructions: Remove excess fat from beef. Cut beef into 6 serving pieces.

Spray 12-inch skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium high heat.

Sprinkle beef with seasonings. Cook beef in skillet about 8 minutes, turning once, until brown.

Layer potatoes, carrots, beef and onion in crockpot.

Mix tomatoes and gravy; spoon over beef and vegetables.

Cover and cook on LOW for 7-9 hours or until beef and vegetables are tender.

You can sprinkle parsley on top, optional.
