1 yellow (or white) cake mix
1 15 oz can crushed pineapple, undrained
1 stick margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions: Mix cake as directed, but reserve 1 cup of the raw batter. Pour remainder of batter in a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan. Bake as directed; remove from oven, and poke holes in cake with fork. Pour sauce over warm cake.
SAUCE: Mix undrained pineapple with margarine and sugar. Cook in heavy saucepan over medium hear, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil. Stir in the cup of reserved batter. Cook until thickened (like gravy).
