Open-Faced Peach Pie

1 unbaked pie crust

1 cup sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

4 or 5 fresh peaches

1/2 pint whipping cream, unwhipped

Instructions: In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cornstarch.

Cover the inside of the pie crust with about three-fourths of the sugar-cornstarch mix.

Arrange peeled and pitted peach halves of peaches on top.

Sprinkle the remainder of the sugar mix over the peach halves.

Carefully pour the cream around the peaches and just a little in the center of the peaches.

Bake at 375* until crust is set, about 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350*, cook until peaches are tender; and custard is clear and firm.,
