2 packages yeast
3/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shortening
2 tablespoons sugar
5 1/2 cups self-rising flour
Instructions: In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add buttermilk, sour cream, 2 1/2 cups flour, shortening and sugar. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed, craping bowl occasionally. Stir in remaining flour. Turn dough onto well-floured board, knead 5 minutes or about 200 turns. Shape immediately. Divide dough into 3 parts. Use 1/3 of dough for each pan of rolls.
