6 to 8 medium potatoes, pared & thingly sliced (6 cups)

1/2 cup onion, chopped

1/3 cup flour

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper (or to taste)

2 cups milk

1/4 cup butter

Instructions: Place half of potatoes in 2-quart greased casserole. Add half of each of the onion, flour, butter, and seasonings. Make another layer. Pour milk over all.

Cover and bake at 350* for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours. Uncover; bake for 15 minutes.
