1 (18.25 oz) box chocolate fudge cake mix
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
1 container whipped chocolate frosting, optional
Instructions: Heat oven to 350 degrees (325 degrees for dark or nonstick pan). Spray with cooking spray a 13-x 9-inch pan.
In large bowl, gently mix dry cake mix, pie filling, eggs and chocolate chips with rubber scraper; break up any undissolved cake mix by pressing with scraper. Carefully spread in pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool completely, about 1 hour. Frost with frosting, if used.
Cut into bars.
